Delphinus Inn

I have been meaning to write a review for Plaza Delphinus since my visit in October of 2014. Blanca and Roberto were the PERFECT hosts. I felt very comfortable there, which says a lot for a young female on her first trip to Mexico! We stayed our first couple of nights here, then moved to a larger resort for a wedding. It's difficult to compare since the resort offered a different experience, but I would recommend that anyone who really wants to feel like part of the city should stay here. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, despite the hotel undergoing some upgrades, and the pool being out of commission. Heck, the ocean was so close, I didn't need a pool! All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I was especially impressed with Roberto & Blanca's humanitarian efforts. They were setting up stations for a group of veterinarians who were planning to come tend to the local animals and wildlife. Roberto knows his town very well, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He was so excited to be the first to show me what sites to see, what stores I should visit, and who's who in town. This place is intimate, but the rooms are large and cool. We had a room with a balcony under a sprawling shady tree, two large beds with clean linens, free wifi (!!), a small dining area, and an armoire to store our belongings. The hotel is walking distance to the town center and a large grocery store. Not far down the road is some nightlife as well. There are so many reasons to recommend that you stay here, but the biggest one is the people. - Katy Summers; Seattle, Washington

A nice property located at walking distance of Chahue bay. Rooms área very clean and nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. Recommended for families.

A good central place for people travelling in their own vehicle. Economic and pleasant. The design of this hotel is lovely and had a tranquil personality. I was using it as base for the area, and in that respect was well placed for drivers. The nearby beaches are beautiful, though not served by cafes and bars (as in Huatulco). There are a couple of hotels on the nearby beach, and I sat and had a drink there, but realised it was a transgression after I spotted everyone else was wearing wristbands...I was an interloper! As I said, the nearby beaches are lovely, but really feel owned by the big hotels there. The beach at Huaculto is walking distance at about 1.2Km, but you can't walk along the beach, so it's by road. Crucecita is near, but really a taxi or car drive. Everything was nice enough, but it did feel a little run down when I was there. I had to ask for towels, and the shower was OK, but not hot. I arrived in the early hours of the morning, and even though I had emailed this information at the time of booking, I had worrying 30 minutes upon arrival and was almost resigned to sleeping in the car - I didn't have to in the end. I can't really fault my stay here as it ticked all my boxes, it's just that I didn't really enjoy staying in it. Check-in was worrisome. I had emailed about my late arrival when making the booking, but it took some time to raise reception. The guy didn't seem to want to let me in when I finally got his attention, but at least I didn't have to sleep in that car. The room wasn't ready with towels. Tip: Ask for aroom with a view of the courtyard as it's beautifully designed.

Amazing place, extremely friendly staff, extended my stay twice! I would highly recommend as location, quality and friendliness is unbeatable.

Great and friendly place for the price. 5 min walk to a beautiful beach, 15 min walk to Chedraui supermarket and 30 min walk to town center La Crucecita. 15 min walk to the beach in Santa Cruz. Rooms are nice, regularly cleaned, daily towels and beds are made. Not much space for luggage, no fridge. Air conditioned and fan. Very homey, and friendly. WiFi reliable, best at the reception and some rooms. Great to put your foot on the ground. No food or coffee makers in the rooms. Local bars are just minutes a way.

2024.02 - a lovely place to stay. Nice city park in front. Ocean 2-3 blocks south. Chedraui supermercado 2-3 blocks north. One mile walk to La Crucecita central park. Great service from all the staff. Building is charming, but could use some paint. The plumbing worked properly. The bed was comfortable. The A/C worked well.

I stayed there for 4 nights. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are good. Prices are modest, the pool is nice, atmosphere is great. It is a clean and quiet/ relaxed place.

Very nice hotel for a perfect price near the beach and near big Chedraui. For good street food you have to walk about 10 minutes direction Zócalo. The staff at the reception was friendly and helpful. Small pool but good enough to cool down.
